I still don't know enough about why Kate decided to kill Wayne to be able to explain it in my head that along with Kate's pre-meditation makes it much harder to forgive, I can at least explain most of the other killers in my head. Maybe i just refuse to forgive kate because I'm not her biggest fan though.

I think sawyer would be a great leader for no other reason that he looks best shirtless. Hehe I should never vote,

I've always subscribed to the theory that Wayne's abuse didn't stop with Diane, even though Kate denied it. It makes a whole lot more sense if her payback on Wayne was a lot more personal. And it would explain Kate being so skittish a whole lot more.

Hee, Shirtless Sawyer gets my vote! :)

I'm also sure he molested her or at the very least beat her up too. However the pre-meditation still gets too me, if she snapped and killed him I'd be able to swallow that. What got to most, mainly in this episode is how she acted like a complete victim and showed no remorse what so ever. Thats just me though

mmm shirtless Sawyer *goes to watch varouis clips*

I cannot understand why Juliet inspires such trust in Jack. Everything about that last scene rubs me the wrong way: the way Jack insisted Juliet was coming with them, the way that he walked with her, his attitude in general. I don't understand it and it really irritates me.

To have Jack behave this wildly out of character all of the sudden causes me to believe that the key to his behavior is in what we didn't see when Kate, Sayid, and Locke were looking for him. They key to why he's treating Kate the way that he is and why he's trusting Juliet lies in what we didn't see. My wild theory is that they have a file on Kate too and showed hers to Jack, because that's about the only thing I can think of that would cause Jack to treat her that way, to distance himself from her. Her having sex with Sawyer couldn't have hurt Jack that much.

Has Season 3 changed your feelings about Jack?

The thing I'm finding is that I'm incapable of blaming Jack for the way he's acting. I either pass the buck to Juliet or the writers, because this Jack that we're seeing is not my Jack. He's some weird, pod-Jack that I don't understand. I blame the way he's acting on the Others and on Juliet, because Jack would never act this way.

Same here. It's just the writers shoving the Jacket agenda down our throats. If they just soft-peddled it a bit more, it wouldn't have us crying "Foul!" so loudly. I can see Jack having mixed feelings for Kate right now but for him to just completely throw his lot in with Juliet instead ... well, I guess that's him setting a new low for being petty and vindictive. To which I say, Grow Up, Jack!

My wild theory is that they have a file on Kate too and showed hers to Jack, because that's about the only thing I can think of that would cause Jack to treat her that way, to distance himself from her. Her having sex with Sawyer couldn't have hurt Jack that much.

You know, that would help a lot. And I wouldn't put it past Juliet to share that information with him. I was kind of thinking that Juliet would use it as leverage against Kate if she tried to reveal Juliet's leaving Jack behind in her own bid to be brought back to the beach, but maybe Jack does already know. That would help explain his being so cold to her. Otherwise, yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I blame the way he's acting on the Others and on Juliet, because Jack would never act this way.
I blame the writers! As always!

It hadn't occurred to me that Kate/Sawyer was reminding Jack of when Sarah cheated on him. You're smart.

I have to think that's why they hammered that point home so hard in all those endless Sarah eps. And we know Jack has terrible judgment when it comes to romance. :/

I don't think Jack blames Kate for Locke blowing the submarine up. Those were Juliet's words, not his. I think he just woke up after being knocked out by three (3!) canisters of gas (wtf) and Kate hit him with all of this hardcore stuff and I think Jack just couldn't deal, didn't know what to say, and even if he's not angry with Kate for "runing his chances to go home", he is still upset with her and probably didn't much feel like comfoting her at the moment. I think he needs a break from Kate to clear his head, I think he's confused as all get out and he's being messed with by Juliet; he's been put through the emotional wringer I think more than Kate and Sawyer and I don't think he knows which way is up right now. When Jack is confused and upset he just shuts people out rather than deal with it. I guess that's why I don't get why everyone's pissed about how he's acting...that's always been Jack's MO, it's not OOC...He shuts down and shuts people out and that's not limited just to his relationship with Kate.

but that's just my two cents. *shrugs*

Well, he's clearly showing he's more sympathetic to Juliet than Kate right now in that final scene where he walks off with her and not Kate. Yeah, I get that he's pissed and confused but eh, whatever, I think everyone is perfectly right to be pissed at HIM for not at least being suspicious of Juliet. (Especially since she was perfectly willing to leave him behind!) Kate was only trying to help. It's not like Juliet has ever helped him, not without it also serving her own ends.

I guess next week will show where his loyalties lie now, once he's back among the rest of the survivors.

BTW: isis2015 had an interesting thought: Maybe Juliet told Jack about what Kate did. That would help explain why he's acting so cold towards her. And we know Locke knows now. I'd been thinking that Juliet was going to use it as leverage over Kate (in case she was going to tell Jack about how Juliet was ready and willing to leave him behind) but maybe Jack already knows and that's one more thing he has to process right now.

And yeah, I can buy Jack being disoriented and shutting down. But you have to admit that the way that last scene played out was clearly "Take that, Kate! I'm going off with Juliet. See how you like it!" even if he's not permanently taking Juliet's side over hers, it was a pointed dig in the moment.

Kate's flashback was...bad.I dunno,Cassidy's behavior and their meeting and helping so not making any sense. But hell,if Cassidy wasn't trying to get in Kate's pants,I was almost expecting them to kiss when they were saying goodbyes! And Kate advised Cassidy to locke Sawyer up?!
*shakes head*

Sawyer and Hurley were cute, but Sawyer really lost all his conman skills,b/c if he was conned by Hurley-nope,no skills left;)

I was totally expecting a goodbye kiss there! I might end up ficcing that. And yeah, wtf with Kate advising her to turn Sawyer in? Girl bonding vs. personal freedom?

And yeah, Sawyer getting conned is getting old. Harrumph! Although I do like Hurley being in his corner.
