oh, I have to give at least this to Kate: she was the one to at last think about Claire (okay, she also stealed her baby so...). But still, I'm glad that she did.

It's about time, huh? :) I kind of think maybe Aaron would prefer that Kate stay and someone else look for Claire but the show has to keep its main cast together somehow.

I actually don't like the new Jack either.

And it was pretty bitter of Jack to say to Kate she didn't like the old him either. She did. She loved him and he broke her heart. It feels good to have new hopes in terms of quandrangle now :)

Personally, I never got the idea that Kate was hung up on Jack, just that she realized it couldn't work between them. We'll see what happens with the quadrangle. I like Juliet and Sawyer together and if Jack and Kate can work, than more power to them!

I'm chalking up a lot of Jack's behavior to him attempting to be sober, actually! Or, at least, to be a completely different person since he felt like a failure being who he was before. I'm sure we'll get the old Jack back soon.

Absolutely. You'd think Kate could stay with him and ask, say, Jack, to go find Claire! Being abandoned by the woman you've always known to be your mother has to be devastating.

I'm surprised more people didn't think it was a good idea to save Ben. Messing with time is a bad idea. First of all, no Ben, no them. Well, maybe they were being altruistic, you say. However, think about the possible ramifications. Sure, letting Ben die prevents the purge and at least a few other deaths. What if he dies, the purge never happens, and one of those Dharma people flips, takes Jughead on the submarine, and blows up a nuclear bomb in a city killing millions? Maybe I'm too influenced by reading "A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury at a young and impressionable age. :)

Anyway, it's interesting to see that I am not the only one who seemed to actually like a Kate episode for once and who is pretty happy with how the quadrangle is being handled so far.

I didn't answer the question about what I thought Kate would do with Aaron, because I thought that Claire would show up at some point and spirit him away to the island. And when I saw him being led away by a long-haired blonde woman, I thought for an instant that I was right! But I'm never right with Lost, sigh. I do have to say that Kate has become more interesting to me now, as a MOTHER, not as a part of the Quadrangle From Hell. I'm very curious to see how her relationship with Claire and Aaron plays out. As for Jack, poor guy, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. He's pretending to know what he's doing, but he's got to be SO CONFUSED underneath the facade, and everyone's criticizing him (again!) and I just want to hug him. You gave me my icon years ago, and it's perfect for how I feel right now!
