George Harrison doc airs this week!

One of my favorite photos (Below. Yes, it was the iTunes ad). And wow, if they ever need an actor to play George: Henry Ian Cusick, yes? And because it's clearly a vital discussion: Who Was the Most Stylish Beatle? I'm going to go with the guy who says George, because he was always my favorite.

Airs Oct 5 and 6 on HBO.

I have to agree with you... George was always my favourite too and I followed his career after the Beatles way more than any of the others. I hope we get that docu here! ;-)

I'm sure it'll show up. It's directed by Martin Scorsese! And I guess I always preferred the "Quiet Beatle." Then Paul and Ringo, and then John last. I was just never as fond of his solo stuff, blasphemy as that may be to some.

I'm sure you're right! It was on our late news about it, mere minutes after I'd replied to your post! How funny is that?

Ah well, I won't call it blasphemy. I liked some of John's stuff, but certainly not all of it! And plenty of people malign Paul McCartney, but some of his stuff wasn't that bad. I do like Ringo a lot too - he is such a personality. Keep meaning to watch Help! again... must drag it out (yes, I'm so old I own it on VHS).

Glad to hear it'll be airing there as well! Seems the universe wants you to see it. ;)

I think it's the age I was when I was hearing their solo stuff that helped shape my tastes there. And I don't know, it's just something about George that I really gravitate towards. And I don't know if I've ever seen all of Help! It's the silly Indian one right? With a missing jewel or something? I remember liking Ringo best in Hard Day's Night. Probably saw that when I was 8 or so. :)

That's the one! It's silly, but the boys are gorgeous. I love A Hard Day's Night too, but unfortunately I don't have a copy of that :-(

How awesome it would be to see Ian playing George! What a unique opportunity that would be. He's got the guitar playing skilz - and the hair! ;)

I think he looks so much like him! And he definitely has the hair!

BTW: Saw a suggestion on the imdb board about the George Harrison doc that Ian should play John! And they wanted Dhani to play his father.

I don't know why I always thought this was supposed to be released in theatres (maybe because I saw Scorsese's Rolling Stones concert/docu in theatres, I guess?), but I'm glad this is finally being released! George is my favourite Beatle, hands down. Hell, George is one of my favourite humans, hands down. His Beatles music, his solo music, his spirituality, his sense of humour... there is nothing I don't love about that man. ♥ I can't wait to see that docu!

Agreed. :) I don't know why this is going to HBO but since I have it, that works for me.

Have you followed his son, Dhani, btw? He has a group with Joseph Arthur, etc. but I haven't listened to the songs that much yet.

I have followed Dhani a bit! Enough to know about Fistful of Mercy, at least. I follow a Dhani blog on Tumblr and I get bits and pieces of news from them, but I'm afraid I haven't listened to much of their stuff yet either.

I don't have HBO so I had to wait for the docu to surface on the interwebs. I'm finally ~acquiring it now though, so I can't wait to watch it!
