Wow, the power of rumor. I've been under the impression he was "out" all along. He sure is a classically handsome creature!

I think it was fairly well known, but he'd never made it official. And had openly dodged talking about it in the past. And yes, he is extremely handsome! I haven't watched White Collar in ages but I can appreciate the pretty.

Speaking of pretty... *eyes your icon*

I caught a couple of eps on demand yesterday - haven't seen it at all this year, and only a few times last. I'm so erratic on tv viewing any more. :(

Ahh, Josh, how I miss him on my TV! *sighs*

White Collar was just too lightweight for me. Pretty but not compelling enough to tune in every week. But keeping my interest is a tough task for any TV show lately.

Dude, I thought he already was out. For a long time! *shrugs* But yes, definitely the prettiest guy in a while. No offense Zach Quinto, but the eyebrows, ugh.

Probably someone was surprised by this. The folks in Peoria, right? ;) And yes, Matt >> Zach in the looks department. Matt is one of many stars who are going to do a "Prop 8" play next month in LA so that might be one of the reasons the timing was right for him. I imagine the press for "Magic Mike" just got a bit more interesting.

Good for him! Not like we haven't known it, but it's good he made it official.

I lso thought he was out. Or that it was an oben secret or something ;) He never confirmed or denied anything.

But good on him, I think.

It was a fairly open secret, but glad it's even more open now! (I think Jodie Foster did the same thing, thanking her longtime gf at an awards ceremony, but no one treated it as a big coming out. And then she got a new gf!) Reaction seems mostly positive, which is all to the good!

At last! Everyone already knew it - there were even some photos of him and his partner together, but I'm really glad he came out for real.
That definitely sets a good example.

And yes, he is hot, if a little too polished, for my taste. I still enjoy watching him on white collar though. :)

He is VERY pretty! :) I doubt he'd have landed the lead in White Collar if he'd come out before, sadly. Hollywood is still so backwards so every little bit helps!

That is so cool! I'm so pleased to see more and more of these guys coming out. One day it's not even going to be a matter of coming out; we will always know, which is how it should be. There are a myriad of variety in people out there, and no one should have to hide because of how the world supposedly perceives them.

As Sir Ian McKellen succintly put it, "I'm an actor. Why should people believe I am a wizard, but not that I could be in love with a woman?" (or words to that effect). They are actors, after all; if our disbelief about who they are playing cannot be suspended, they are failing to do the job, or we are failing to believe in them.

And believing in them should not depend on who they spend their lives with. It's going to do so many young gay people so much better to have these role models out and proud.

Man, I hope so!

Ian McKellen is made of awesome, as always. I think it's easier for the Brits to come out, especially if you're of a certain age! But then there's the hubbub with Luke Evans. He was openly out in the UK, now that he's becoming a big star in the US, he's sort of back in the closet. :-( Makes me sad. I think it's mostly publicists freaking out (most of whom are gay themselves!) but just ridiculous.

Haters are going to hate but the more that come out, the less of a big deal it is. Do you watch Southland, btw? A major character on the show is (fairly quietly) gay but it's dealt with really well. He's just incredibly awesome in every way and so not a stereotype.

That's such a pity about Luke Evans, but you're bound to be right about the publicists. It's definitely easier in the UK and Europe too, I think. And yeah, over 60 or so - way easier!!! It's like no one in America cares if they aren't young and 'lead' material. Just stupid!

You're so right; the more come out, the less of a big deal it is!

No, I haven't watched Southland, but maybe I should! Sounds good. Thanks for the rec!
