Just some caps I took while watching the season. ;-)

I finished watching a little while ago, but since I'd already seen the finale, my whole approach to the season was very odd! I have to say, it's the first time I ever caught up with a show like this, DLing eps and watching them back to back, commercial-free, spoiler-free (well, apart from the whole "seeing the finale before most of the season" thing). On the one hand, I missed out on all the fandom chatter and fics while the series was going on. On the other hand, I had just a really pure watching experience. I didn't even know the synopses or titles of the next epi, just that it was the next ep.

My favorite eps are "Faith," (for being a little deeper, and having a girl Dean actually had chemistry with), "Hell House" (for bringing the scary AND the funny in huge doses, esp. the pranking!), "Dead Man's Blood," (sexy vamps!). Now seeing the finale with the whole weight of the season behind it and knowing who these characters are and what it means for Dean to question his dad? Yeah. Huge deal.

Worst eps: Definitely "Phantom Traveler" and "Route 666." That actress who played Cassie? About as good an actress as the girl who played Eve on "Angel." Srsly.

Pics in no particular order. Very Dean-centric. ;-D)

I must be the only SPN fan that didn't care for "Faith." Or, rather, I liked the episode a lot and didn't care for the whole Layla and Dean thing. Found it creepy. I'm all for actors playing parts you're not used to seeing them in, but as unfair as it is Julie Benz will always be Darla. Seeing her play anything else is just creepy--she speaks and I hear Darla calling Angel her darling boy. :-/

But I seriously think "Hell House" was my favorite. ;D Even my hubby loved it and he kind of got out of the fandom when it dipped into the killer truck and bugs episodes (I tried to tell him it gets better, but alas, he doesn't listen). And also every episode Daddy Winchester was in I love, cause I'm shallow like that.

So how do you feel about Sam & Sarah? I thought she rocked. ;-) And hella creepy ep!

With a daddy like Daddy Winchester, these boys could be on Lost! Not that I don't love John but still ... way to give your kids complexes!

Sarah was the girl in the episode with the painting...right? *Is bad with the endless parade of pretty girls' names* If so yes, I did like her...but GAH, none of the female characters have just absolutely knocked me out and made me think 'ZOMG BRING THAT CHARACTER BACK', you know?

Ah well.

Yeah, I know, John does not deserve dad of the year. Several times did I want to smack him. (Still love him to bits, though. ;)

Yep, that was Sarah, the auction house girl with the very useful knowledge of dolls. I'd like to see her come back. The rest, eh, no thanks. I saw a fic that was Dean/Andrea and I had to click on the story notes to see who the hell she was! (Amy Acker, a.k.a Fred)

John is a great character, definitely. Love the complexities of their relationship.

And heyk, I was reading some possible spoilers for S2 in the spn newsletter... have you seen those?

See? I went completely blank on the Andrea thing too. :P (Didn't care for her character to be honest, I don't know that she'll ever top Illyria.)

NO I HAVEN'T, SPOIL ME PLZKTHNX!

It started off really well, then kinda bogged down, but got better and better in the last third. It's a lot like The X-Files, really, with a different monster of the week. But since these are brothers, and not government employees doing the investigating, it's a bit more Hardy Boys/Fugitive with much credential faking, etc. I like the characters a lot, so (like the X-Files), even if the particular ep is kinda weak, there's always some character stuff to enjoy. Some people find it horribly scary, others not scary at all. I'm somewhere in between!

So yeah, I'd consider DLing or renting the DVDs if that sounds like your kind of thing.

I'm OK, I guess. And you? ;-)

I LOVE Hell House, still watch it from time to time for the pranks. ;D It must've been weird watching the season finale and then going backwards from the beginning. YAY you included Papa Winchester! :♥ Those last few scenes in the season finale GAH *clings* Actually the whole episode in the season finale blew me away. Poor Sam, poor Dean. IS IT SEPTEMBER YET? XD

The chick who played Cassie, that was some wtfhorrible acting. But at least we got more nekkid!Dean. ;)

I had seen most of "Dead in the Water" (and was unimpressed), then randomly tuned into "Dead Man's Blood," which I really liked. Then I saw the finale. And THEN I decided I needed to see the whole season. So yeah, very weird order! I was still on the edge of my seat and OMGing during the finale, even having missed so much.

Yes, Nekkid!Dean is nothing to sneeze at! But he needs a better "love of his life."

*dies* I'm not sure how it's possible for two boys to be just dripping sex like they do, but OKAY. And sexy vamps indeed--spending my life drinking, having sex and sucking blood? Yes, I could handle that.

I don't know any of the episode titles and am too lazy to look it up, but was Cassie Dean's girlfriendthing?

Ooh yeah, that would be fun. And we could just feed on rude people, like Lestat. Or was that Louis? ;)

Yes, Cassie was Dean's most serious relationship, or so they try to tell us!!!

Welcome to the obsession! :bg: This show kinda hooked me too. I watched the pilot with mixed feelings, figured I'd stick with it, as pilots quite frequently are nowhere near as good as the series, and was obsessed after Wendigo. Dean is just yummy, and such a tortured soul despite the sarcastic front, thanks for the pics!!

Hee. I watched it all out of order, as I said, so by the time I got to Wendigo I was already hooked. And yes, snark + brooding hooks me in every time! ;)

'Faith' is definetly high up there on my list - somehow dying Dean was about the most adorable thing ever, even if the first 5 minutes of the episode seemed like some bad fic on the setup. It was cheesy.

But I have to agree with rougeapprentice on Julie Benz and the Darla thing. It prevented me from feeling a real chemistry between them - though their last words to one another still elicit complete squeeage from me. And it sucks that I'm never going to want to watch 'Province' again, because I completely adored Sara too.

Thanks for the pretty caps - those boys are too hot for my own good!

Oh yeah. "Faith" was really stellar, apart from that WTF beginning!

Awww, too bad Julie Benz will forever be Darla to you. I still see her as Darla too, I guess, only more as a background kind of thing.

Maybe Sara will be back. ;-) There's bound to be more haunted antiques, right? Hopefully, no more dolls, for your sake!

I WONDER IF YOU HAVE A TYPE. :P

LOL. What? The Snark and Brooding thing?

Srsly, mostly my type is usually older and more on the hunky side (you know, Clive Owen ... more like Daddy Winchester, actually.) But Dean gives such good Tortured!Soul! ;-)
