Mood theme mania

I think I might have created a monster. I'm having a dull week, so I'm just looking at my DVD collection and thinking, HEY ... MOOD THEME. Maybe because TV hasn't been so satisfying this week. Heroes was odd. No Prison Break. And I miss my Simpsons reruns! Also, what happened to MI-5 on A&E? They show two episodes from Season 4 and then nothing? Bastards.

What mood theme should I make next?

Toy Story (1 & 2)
Bourne Identity & Bourne Supremacy
Singin' in the Rain
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Various film noir (one set)
Withnail & I
LA Confidential

Would you actually use any of the above if I made them?

Yes, definitely!
Maybe. Depends.
No, I just love voting in polls

Is this the start of a terrible new addiction?

Yes. Step away from the computer now
No. Everyone needs a good mood theme
Er, you haven't even changed your own mood theme yet. *is puzzled*

You didn't see that vote coming at all, did you?
Oct. 11th, 2006 05:52 am (UTC)
No, LOL! Based on your icon, I'd have thought you'd go for Singin' in the Rain.

This all started when I wanted to add a Supernatural theme but I couldn't find one I loved completely. And then suddenly I'm making something completely different. I know. Makes no sense. (And I could totally make my own SPN theme but ... I don't know. I'll probably end up cutting and pasting an existing one together.)

Wait, I *did* vote for SITR, didn't I? *panics*

I have a hard time giving up my Shakespeare one, but yeah, I couldn't find a SPN one I wanted either. There was a J2 type deal recently, but I can't seem to track it down. And even just LOADING it is a pain...I give you MADprops for capping and matching and all of that. SO HARD.

And I *do* have an actual SITR icon, don't I? huh.

Um, ignore me. Apparently, I'm retarded. NIGHT! And Happy Lost Day!!!

*goes to vote*

Tee hee! I thought you'd just voted for Film Noir. So is that the one you'd take or the Singin' in the Rain one?
Oct. 11th, 2006 01:52 pm (UTC)
Depends on what the Noir one looks like, I guess ;)

But likely Singin' in the Rain. I like bright colors...or B&W evidently!

;) Ahh, American in Paris! You know, Gene Kelly's smile is one of the best things on the face of the earth. That and his dancing wasn't too shabby! (Always preferred him to Astaire, probably because Gene also managed to be sexy, as well as a great dancer.)

I think I've acquired a new mood-making-bug so I could end up doing both. It's a fun way to revisit my favorite movies. And there won't be any pressure to use them once I'm done.

by depends I mean if I could figure out the whole confusing business...

also? Blade Runner? best. taste. ever.

And I'd go tell you that in your other post but soooo sleepy.

:-) Night!

And man, uploading a mood theme is a pain. It's almost as much work as making one. If you want to know how, I can walk you through it.

What cmonkatiekatie said, basically.

*nods in agreement and fear of LJ's moody nature*

First you need a paid account, I think. And then you have to go here: http://www.livejournal.com/manage/moodthemes.bml

It's a pain to set it up because you have to manually upload each picture individually (132!) and cut and paste links to them all. Which is why I've had mine for about 2 years!

I have no opinion on the above. And I have no mood theme. Should I get one? If so, where? I want a shiny one. I have no idea what it should be of. I keep thinking I should get one, and then I'm too lazy to search them out. Could you point me in a likely direction?
Oct. 11th, 2006 03:25 pm (UTC)
I came across this comm: mood_mania. They have lots of great moods but I saw a gap, so I filled it, LOL.

That and I've just realized the most obvious mood theme of all that I should be creating. *points to your icon* I actually haven't seen one anywhere!
Oct. 11th, 2006 03:44 pm (UTC)
What, Sawyer? There's no Sawyer mood themes out there? There really, really needs to be!
Oct. 11th, 2006 06:38 pm (UTC)
No, I mean I haven't seen a purely Josh one. You'd have to pull in some Sawyer because I don't think Josh ever gets infuriated, angry, bitchy, etc. LOL. And lord knows I must already have at least 132 Josh/Sawyer pics downloaded.
Oct. 11th, 2006 10:34 am (UTC)
Sorry, I voted on your poll.

Oct. 11th, 2006 03:25 pm (UTC)
Randomness is the essence of LJ. ;) *waves*

Oct. 11th, 2006 01:09 pm (UTC)
I've got 2 mood themes saved somewhere, a viggo one and a sawyer one... but it seems such a pain in the ass to load that I actually never tried to get it on.

but if you do a Toy Story one? MY GOD. I would not resist. that I'm sure ;)
Oct. 11th, 2006 03:26 pm (UTC)
Toy Story trumps Viggo *and* Sawyer! Wow! I will try to get to it!
Oct. 11th, 2006 01:37 pm (UTC)
LOL! Now you caught the bug!!!! The-mood-theme-making-love-bug! XD

pssst....I've discovered a new way to pass the time away! Matt bought me those model airplanes kits to put together! I'm sniffing glue like there's no tomorrow! Whee!!!!!
Oct. 11th, 2006 03:28 pm (UTC)
LOL! We are both addicts!

About halfway into the Blade Runner one, I thought, 'Eh, I'll never want to use this one myself, I'm already tired of it.' But now that it's done I kind of love it more than ever. But here I am already planning new ones so who knows which one I'll end up using? LOL.

And it wasn't as much work as I'd thought. I guess a 2-hour or so movie is easier than an entire series! Although finding obscure moods in some films: rough! Which is why I figured I'd have go for several films if I did film noir.

(Did you ever do a Gladiator or LA Confidential mood theme or just icons?)
Oct. 11th, 2006 08:56 pm (UTC)
I know what you mean about those obscure moods....I mean, really! does anyone really feel quixotic? do most people even know what that word means? And some moods are so closely related that you don't know which picture to use. Like geeky and nerdy or apathetic and indifferent. What's up with that?

I never did a mood theme for Gladiator or L.A. Confidential. I should! If I ever get my computer back.....boo hoo hoo..... :( I'm trying to figure out what the heck did I do with my life before I got my computer. LOL!
Oct. 11th, 2006 09:11 pm (UTC)
But Blade Runner was easy to find a "quixotic" mood:
Free Image Hosting - www.supload.com
The VK test!

However, does anyone ever feel quixotic? Unlikely! LOL. This one was tough because Rachel, the replicant, has no emotions! At least I could use her for "apathetic, blank, numb," etc.!

Whenever my computer is sick or I'm offline due to some snafu, I'm always at a loss - I do everything online! Look up numbers, research and of course LJ! I'm keeping my fingers crossed you'll be reunited with your baby soon!
Oct. 11th, 2006 05:44 pm (UTC)
I think you need to stop right before you damage your sanity.

Oct. 11th, 2006 06:39 pm (UTC)
Too late! Hee.
Oct. 11th, 2006 07:39 pm (UTC)
Bourne Identity & Bourne Supremacy mood theme would be awesome-especially if you'd include Kirill in it;)

*loves your Jenny header*
Oct. 11th, 2006 09:12 pm (UTC)
:-) It's on the to-do list!

And mm, who doesn't love Jensen? I don't think I can call him Jenny yet, though, LOL.
