I couldn't answer the "Bright side of next week's previews" because there was no "SAWYER!ABUSE OMGSQUEE!" ticky button.

Sorry, when it comes to him I'm a total sadist. I blame Sayid.

Really? :-/ That looks like too much, even for me and I was all "yay" over the CM previews. I had a "yay" in among the "aughs" but ended up taking it out.

Desmond was the only thing I found compelling about this episode, really. I mean, when he was on the screen talking about Locke's speech that hadn't happened yet, and then at the end when Hurley was just staring at him while he threw rocks into the ocean...I don't really know what any of it means, but it was oddly enthralling.

I don't think even the sight of Locke half naked could traumatize me as much as that promo. I may have had a small heart attack, and I'm doing a really crappy job of trying to calm down.

Agreed. When Desmond is on screen, I'm sitting up and paying attention. Esp when you realize he's not quite the same! Nice and subtle.

I put yes/no as to whether I missed Jack, Kate & Sawyer, because although I did find myself missing Jack and Sawyer, I did not spare even a second's thought for poor captive Kate. In fact, I kinda forgot about her existence. Which was nice, while it lasted. :)

Also, is it just me or is Boone even prettier now? Death seems to agree with him.

Boone looked DAMN good. I've seen pics of Ian about with the floppy hair and it looked bad but it was the bad bangs that were the problem. Without bad bangs, boy looks fine

And heh, Kate is a package deal with Jack and Sawyer. If we get them, she comes along, so for me, it's worth the price. I think there was that one ep where she had one line ... *can't remember*

And I think the airport hallucination was a way of fulfilling some contractual appearance type stuff. I did like that. That was nice, imagining them all having safe, happy lives past the island. Or whatever that was.

Sawyer was shirtless?

I guess I was too blindsided by the brutality to notice.

That was just too much.

As much as I love that the island has polar bears, everything I know about them as a biology student yells out in protest when they have them as these nasty predators on the island. Polar bears are crappy hunters. And they don't like land.

When Eddie was like, "What are you guys gonna blow up?" or whatever it was like, are you kidding? It's so totally pot. Lost needs to work on being subtle. Like blatantly asking about the Geronimo Jackson shirt.

And I swear Mike was Calista Flockhart's sister's husband on "Brothers & Sisters" that I got stuck watching Sunday because I was bored.

Ahh, Lost. Reality is not your strong suit.

The only subtle thing in this ep was Desmond's newfound psychic abilities. That was well done.

I haven't watched Brothers & Sisters (looks deadly dull) but I've definitely seen that actor before.

Hardest thing to believe about this ep:

For some reason I find it darkly amusing that about half things on the list you offered (like everyone surviving the hatch going kablooey) are things I would find ridiculous on any other show, but for Lost I don't give them half a second's thought. It's like "That would never happen but, eh, it's Lost". It's not so much suspending disbelief as it is no longer caring for reality.

Or possibly it's some TV-show induced version of Stockholm syndrome. You know, same idea.

Heh. I don't know if that would make the Lost writers happy or sad to hear, LOL.

Guess they throw out that "logical/scientific explanation for everything" attitude out long ago. For me, the final straw in believability on the show was when we realize Eko crashlanded on the same island as his brother. *eyeroll/headdesk combo*

Honestly, I never bought the "logical explanation" party line to begin with. There was waaaay too much supernatural hootinanny going on with the island from day one.

I haven't seen the promo so I can't answer those questions. Just so you know. :)

Also? OMG Boone! I cannot get over how good he looked. GUH. Death becomes him.

Aka, the Promo that Made One Million Fangirls Clutch Their Hearts and Scream "SAWYER!"

Boone looked SO good. Ian's phone should be ringing off the phone about now! Cast that boy in some quality entertainment, stat!
