Hodgins for the win! (I can't believe I didn't even hesistate before voting for him over the Jack. Oh, Lost, I don't even have the words.)

KYLE CHANDLER'S HAIR. *dies* I was totally shocked about that one. I'd heard rumblings about a JDM reappearance, and loved seeing Denny and his White Shirt 'O Lust, but KC I never would have expected since he's on an NBC show. Awesome.

It was great to see Kyle again. Totally unspoiled for that. That's some afterlife Meredith's found herself in. (Of course, only for one more episode, at best!)

And awww, Lost. Next week, it's Jack's Incredibly Skanky Adventures in Thailand .... the long-awaited tattoo episode ruined by lame casting. I read someone joking that we're going to find out that Jack's tattoos control time and space. Heh.

But yes, Hodgins is made of awesome!

*loves Hodgins*

Totally unspoiled for that.

Same here. No clue, and I'm totally glad for that fact. Though, I would have loved it more (I think) if the KC appearance was spoiled and JDM was the big surprise, since I love him more. Oh well. Either way it was badass.

Word. When I saw the promo I was like, "I did not just see who I thought I saw, did I?" I did. And then, Lost made me die inside more, if that's even possible.

JDM, how I miss him on my TV twice a week! He would have been competing against himself though, in that time slot!

And yeah, what IS up with the Lost casting people. I think they're combing worst-dressed lists and rap sheets for those Jack love interests. *sighs*

I never watched a full episode of X-Files in my life,so I had nothing to compare to and IMO,"Tall Tales" was hilarious:)I mean, slowdancing aliens!!

Ahhh, well this was very similar to one of their funniest episodes, in which Mulder and Scully keep contradicting each other on what happened as they retell the story to their boss. But it was a vampire story and well ... it was just funnier. And they did it first! I did like this episode but X-Files totally did it first.

I just got reminded of Rashomon. Can't believe I didn't think of it sooner - we read it then watched it and analyzed it to death in my Japanese Fiction through Film class like 2 years ago.
Feb. 16th, 2007 09:12 pm (UTC)
Ha, well Rashomon's inspired tons of stuff. I didn't know it was a book first, though. And hey, X-Files ripped stuff off too. They did a whole "Run Lola Run" episode, but so did everyone else.

I picked "What is this X-Files that you speak of?" because while I know XF, I haven't seen the episode, so the other options don't apply.

Dean with a mouthful of candy

I think it was nuts. Which just makes it dirty.
Feb. 16th, 2007 09:07 pm (UTC)
Nuts would be funnier. And you should totally hunt that episode down. One of my very fave X-Files eps, even more so because it came late in the series run when it had started to lose me. Talk about your convoluted mythology!
Feb. 16th, 2007 09:04 pm (UTC)
See, from what I understand, the same guy who worked on the Xfiles wrote or directed this...but I'm not 100% cuz I'm currently too lazy to IDMB it.

Anywhoo: DENNY!!!! *rewatches*
Feb. 16th, 2007 09:09 pm (UTC)
Ahh, well then I guess no one can cry foul then. What can I say? X-Files did it first! And those two needed to lighten up even more than the Winchesters did!

It was so awesome to see Denny again. Damn, I miss him. Why couldn't they have killed Izzie off instead?! (Although what would Denny do on a weekly basis...? Hang out at the bar? Haunt the place?)
Feb. 16th, 2007 10:53 pm (UTC)
I think a guy who used to write or direct or something on The X Files works on Supernatural now, so...I don't know. I either don't remember or didn't see that episode, so I was pretty damn amused with this episode. Especially how Sammy is so very gay in Dean's version. I would pay to hear Jared talk like that every week.

RE Izzie: I'm starting to think I only liked her because she had Denny. I mean, my heart ached for her when he died, but now, I can barely stand her. I mean, George is your best friend, how about you try supporting him instead of acting like an enormous bitch because him marrying Callie. If you don't like her, so what? He's your best friend and she's his wife. Ug. *smacks her*
Feb. 17th, 2007 12:30 am (UTC)
I do think it was me as a loving homage, it's just that I adore that X-Files episode so it's pretty darn impossible to top. Even with Sam & Dean! Anyway, hope I didn't take away anyone's enjoyment of it. :)

And Izzie - man it's hard to remember a time when I *didn't* hate her. I'm still so pissed about what she did to Denny. And then forcing everyone else to cover for her and jeopardize their own careers. And then she has the gall to criticize Cristina? Or Meredith? Or George? No, just no. And you do not EVER say things like that someone, even if you do think they mad a collossal mistake. I have tried to do that to friends, much more gently, and all it does is ruin the friendship. All you can do is there be to support. There are times when you need to tell your friends some harsh truths, but honestly, even if George and Callie are doomed, this is just Izzie's own selfishness, not anything else. She is truly a terrible, terrible friend. I just want her off the show. If only she'd fallen into the water instead and they could just let her go.

(Did you ever watch ER - that show, and 24 -- could redeem even the most unlikable characters in death, like Lucy's death on ER. Man, that was an amazing episode. Even Dr. Romano cried!)
