GA, SPN, Bones

Hmmm. I was underwhelmed. That actress didn't do much for me. She was like a cross between Penelope Cruz and Selma Blair, neither of whom I like. Her "save me/kill me" speech to Sammy? Yeah, not tugging on the heartstrings. At all. And I guess Sammy angst doesn't affect me as much as Dean angst. I miss my Dean angst!

I was also disappointed at the werewolf "makeup," which was basically just long nails and teeth -- so what's to tell them apart from a vampire? And the whole having to kill her thing? I'm sorry, but if Oz (y'know, Seth Green), can live a full and responsible life as a werewolf, why can't she?

Sorry, guys, just not feeling this one. I did like Dean's crack about Sammy becoming the Dog Whisperer, though, LOL. But, OMG, the sex scene! Jesus, Lost never gets sex scenes like that and it's on later! Yowza. Can you imagine if that were Jack or Sawyer? And set to a Mark Lanegan song? Nice. Although, that final song playing over Sam's deciding to kill Madison was ... drippy. I have to give it a big "meh." Seriously, between this and last week, I don't know which one I disliked more. They totally should have had the GOOD actress, i.e, Tricia Helfer play the werewolf! Wow, can you imagine how she would have sold that last scene?

And, er, has Jensen put on some weight...?

Grey's Anatomy
Weirdly enough, despondent, regretful Izzie is not so hateful as "hellbent on trashing George's marriage at every opportunity" Izzie. Oh, she's still a selfish brat: if it feels right, it must be okay with God? Okay, then. And let's tell Callie? Yeah, no. Jeez, grow up, would you? And listen to Addison!

Derek, Devoted Meredith Lover. I said it last week but there's something about the way he loves her that makes me love her a little bit too. And I'm glad Patrick gets at least one good scene a week!

I do not get how Izzie's speech to the dead woman's daughter, which was really about her being a marriage-wrecking floozy, in any way applied to the dead woman she was supposedly talking about. Since when does making a mistake equal dying of a rare, congenital disease.

Finally watched last night's ep. Good, even if I had to avoid the boneless body analysis scenes. Ewwwww! And who doesn't love Angela? I hope she gives her drawing of the dead bride and groom to his family. Who do I get that feeling that Sully will turn up as a corpse and Bones will have to solve his murder too?

I missed last week's ep. Worth watching?

Re: SPN, the actress didn't do it for me so much as the Dean-Sam parallel and the possible implications thereof. That's what totally broke my heart. :(
Mar. 23rd, 2007 07:51 am (UTC)
Eh, I don't know. Not feeling that either. Maybe I was cried out from Grey's. (Shut up, Patrick Dempsey near tears always makes me cry.) Why do the eps where the boys get laid suck so hard other than the getting laid part?!
Mar. 23rd, 2007 07:58 am (UTC)
Haha, well, at least we can agree on the getting laid part :) RAWR. Sammy was deliciously ferocious.

But the single tear streaking its lonely path down Dean's pretty face didn't do it for you??

Not with that hideous song playing over that scene. WTF? That's not a Supernatural song at all. I think someone snuck in some music intended for Grey's Anatomy there!

I liked last week's Bones much more than this week's. I don't know why. *g*
Mar. 23rd, 2007 03:39 pm (UTC)
I TiVoed last week's, I just didn't get to watch it in time before it disappeared ... but now I've set it to save until I delete. I should go catch up? I asn't fond of all the therapy episodes so I'm glad that's over.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 03:59 pm (UTC)
It's actually not over - he's back next week and both Booth and Bones go together.

I started watching the show because of Stephen Fry (love him!) so I'm happy.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 04:23 pm (UTC)
I love Stephen Fry but I don't like Booth and Brennan being split up. So if they're in therapy together, that's good!

SPN. I don't like the actress who played the 'hot chick'. I didn't like her when she played Lex Luther's wife in Smallville, I didn't like her when she played the psycho-ex in One Tree Hill, and I didn't even like her when she was fighting zombies in House of the Dead 2. She's like Nicole Kidman, something about her puts my hackles up. There were a lot of things about teh episodes that I liked and then there were other parts that made me go 'bwuh?'.

Watched Bones last night. I thought last week's episode was better than that.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 03:40 pm (UTC)
That actress was just bad. Very bad. She couldn't sell me on the angst at all. I didn't care if she lived or died and that's not good. I liked the sex scene and of course Dean at the strip club! But between the actress being terrible and the werewolf makeup being nonexistent, I'm very disappointed.

Thanks for the tip about Bones. I'll try to catch up!

I would have died a thousand deaths and then declared this to be the best episode ever. The writing here was much, much better this week, I thought, definitely better than last week. It was the same dialogue that Jared and Jensen sell on a regular basis, but that chick was nowhere near Jared and Jensen's level.

Whatever. I'm bringing Molly back. I have issues with letting go.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 03:44 pm (UTC)
Yay! Molly totally needs to come back! :) The writing was better this week, yes, but why couldn't they hire a decent actress for it? It seems they can only afford one or two good actresses per season and they've already blown their wad! Plus, color me very disappointed at the (complete lack of) werewolf makeup. Meh. Even the X-Files did a shoddy werewolf episode, although I think theirs was worse, IIRC. However, the werewolf victims' makeup gets an A. And so does the sex scene. ;)

Last weeks Bones was much better then this week, although I did like it too. The case(s) were better last week, although for the life of me I can't seem to be able to make a clear statement. *face palm* I'm no help at all.

I'm totally off GA, sad but true. I think the problem is that my netflix always seem to come on Thursdays, and you know, I can't help myself. Oh and the fact that I'm not digging the direction of the show.

And I'm rambling, so sorry.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 03:52 pm (UTC)
I will have to catch up with last week's Bones. I'm so behind with other shows, like Heroes that I finally caved and just read recaps! I don't have time to watch so much TV. And hah, that's funny about the netflix. I'm the complete opposite. My netflix movies sit here for months because there's no deadline to return them. I should just cancel -- but first I'd have to watch the movies I have here because it would be silly to return them after not ever watching them.

GA - well, I'm not at all down with the George/Izzie thing, mostly because Izzie has become such a selfish little shrew. But like I said, since the hookup, she wasn't as annoying. I still enjoy the rest of the show and hey, it is a soap opera, so hopping beds seems par for the course. I won't be happy if George leaves Callie for her ... I think I just am not invested enough to care as much at this point, though. But I do wish Izzie had just left after Denny died.

Are you trying to kill me or something?!;P

I liked the actress who played Madison and they had a good chemistry-and sex scene was just what I hoped it would be and I am all happy!!!And Sam's sex scene was way WAY better than Dean's from S1,IMO.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 03:55 pm (UTC)
Hmm, no, I just wasn't feeling it, apart from the sex scene. And the flirting at first was cute, but I didn't think she was able to convey the heavy angst that the final scene required. I didn't feel anything, at any rate!

Sam did get a lot racier of a sex scene, definitely. Boy's coming off a long dry spell, he deserved it! I guess it's remarkable that Cassie was allowed to live since loving the Winchesters is like loving a Cartwright. You're doomed! (Grew up on Bonanza reruns, heh!) I also was pretty unimpressed with the werewolf aspect of the episode. I think it's hard to do the classic monsters. The X-Files werewolf ep wasn't that great, as I recall -- so I'd have to say this one was better than that. ;)
Mar. 23rd, 2007 05:21 pm (UTC)
To be honest-I couldn't care less about the werewolf part, because thats just not scary to me(and I keep thinking of 80's "Werewolf in college" movie, lol).I wasn't impressed at all by the make up or shrieking and the strongest part for me was seeing the room Sam locked her in after she turned...

Mar. 23rd, 2007 05:55 pm (UTC)
I agree, that was pretty effective, seeing that door with all the clawmarks on it and then her seeing the scratches on Sam's face.

(Although, I suppose, that could have all been staged, LOL.)
Mar. 23rd, 2007 06:03 pm (UTC)
BONES WAS SO LOVELY. Seely Booth = amazing man. And I actually wasn't annoyed by Angela. (I can't take her spicy-syruppy-ness anymore, usually.) Aaaand...yes, you should watch all Bones ever.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 08:06 pm (UTC)
Aww, I love Angela and Hodgins. Not too fond of Cam and the geeky lab boy ... whatshisname? Zach? I didn't see all of S1 of Bones because I didn't like it first but there are some great eps there, like the Christmas one. That and the Headless Witch in the Woods are my faves.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 08:36 pm (UTC)
I used to not like Cam, but now that she's not with Seely I'm a total Cam/Hodgins shipper.
Mar. 23rd, 2007 11:21 pm (UTC)
I know i haven't seen every ep, but I thought she never was Seely, except as a backstory to the show. She only came along in S2, right? Eh. I was hoping she wouldn't make it after she got poisoned. Lost didn't really predispose me to like that actress!
Mar. 24th, 2007 02:42 am (UTC)
Well, they weren't *official*, but they were hooking up briefly in S2.

AH I didn't even connect the dots!
Mar. 24th, 2007 12:43 am (UTC)
That scene in Grey's with George and Izzie in the closet? The one where they said no words but said everything? AMAZING.

I usually like Izzie, but she is testing my patience right now. Do not fuck with Callie, Blondie. She will mess you up.
Mar. 24th, 2007 02:38 am (UTC)
They've completely assassinated Izzie's character ever since Denny died. She's been such a horrible BRAT. I can't believe I ever liked her, honestly. And while she wasn't as strident in this episode, her wanting to believe that she and George should be together, even though he's married is kind of a new low, even for her. And we thought Meredith had impulse control issues! Interesting how she's *not* confiding in Meredith, who was the other woman, but in Addison, who was the cheated-on wife. (Well, okay, and a cheater herself. What goes around comes around. But Izzie was mostly there for the being-cheated-on part.) Now I'm very curious what Meredith will think!

And yeah, when Callie finds out, she's going to fuck Izzie up. I seriously hope she beats the crap out of her. And to think, I used to not like Callie at all! Now I kind of want a "Do not mess with me" icon of her.
