I'm glad someone else feels that way, says the girl whose review is conspicuously absent amongst the flist glee.

THAT's what this season was leading up to? Why not just make it the series finale and be done with it?

And there's glee.....? Seriously. Over what I can't imagine.

The quadrangle BS? The Jacob nonsense?

Sing it, sister!
May. 14th, 2009 02:40 pm (UTC)
Sometimes I think they really hate their audience.

LOL, I still don't have an idea how I feel about it. I need to process it, except that that ending is the most unfair thing ever seen.
May. 14th, 2009 02:42 pm (UTC)
I wonder, really, what makes them think ppl will want to tune in for another season with that kind of an ending! You've got to give us a bit more hope than that. I'm sure they're not all dead but still...

I am seeing some theories pop up that would make for an interesting and/or okay last season but that ending was seriously fucked up.

jack being epic

I just didn't get Jack at all this season. If he wanted to save the life of everyone who was on 815, that's one thing but if it's all about him losing Kate, that makes no sense to me at all. The quadrangle stuff makes me want to shove Darlton off a very tall building.

I was thinking to myself as I watched it that while I like the show, they think they can throw anything at us and we'll be like sheep.

seriously, first, what in the fuck does Sawyer have to do to be happy?
Second, Rose and Bernard lived out there for three years...how in the hell did they get the Dharma food without anyone noticing.
Third, if that magnet was so powerful it would have even ripped their fillings out.
Fourth, if Jacob is so powerful how in the hell did Ben kill him? Did it have to be a Human?
Fifth, and most importantly, if Jacob is gone, WTF IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO RICHARD.

Sorry for the questions but while I liked parts of it, you need an advanced degree in physics to understand it sometimes.

the only part I really did like though, Rose telling them off, like she's the freakin' voice of reason...I still think that Vincent is behind everything..maybe HE'S Jacob.

I hear that Elizabeth Mitchell wanted off the show. *sigh*

And you're right about the magnet, since his own fillings killed that one guy that Miles was carting around. Not that Lost was ever tip-top on continuity or anything.

how in the hell did they get the Dharma food without anyone noticing.
The DI doesn't seem to be a very smart bunch, tbh! And maybe some food drops went off target. Who knows?

I am SO TIRED of the Ben, Locke and Jacob show. Give them a spinoff and then I can skip them all!

Ha, same here. Although, honestly, I wish I'd never heard of Jacob. Worst idea ever, Lost. *sigh* Or, I don't know, maybe Jack embracing "his destiny" is the worst idea!

I don't even know what to say. Jack makes me tired. Really, really tired. I mean, I'm used to him making semi-thought-out and crazily impulsive decisions that he latches onto as if they are the only thing in the world that matters, but... they tried to make out like he wanted to blow up the bomb just because, somehow, because of Kate? was that was he was implying during this installment of "Discussing Feelings In The Jungle Again?"

What in the hell? And don't the writers grasp that A LOT of folks have totally stopped caring about the love triangle, and were HAPPY to see Sawyer happy? Continuing to destroy every tiny little wee bright spot in the series is not a good thing.

My mom has a theory that there was not a nuclear blast - that the island suddenly shifted in time again. I don't even know. At this point, I am feeling weary of waiting for some small resolution - any small resolution. The only moment of satisfaction I had last night was when Locke's body came tumbling out of the box, because I called it several episodes ago that Locke is really dead and possessed by something malevolent.

And if the stupid Jack/Kate/Sawyer stuff factors in heavily next season.... I truly don't care anymore and the lack of spark between them is palpable.

I don't know. Augh, Lost. You anger me into incoherency.
May. 14th, 2009 04:31 pm (UTC)
Word, word, word. :-/

The decision to blow up the island being all about Kate was just ... idiotic. Juvenile. Insulting. Please give Jack something better to aspire to, plz.

I like the time shift theory but again... do enough people care to tune in after that finale? *sigh*

I'm also angry.

I did love all the crazy weird Jacob vs Other Dude mythology, but that's because I'm a crazy person.

All the character stuff, especially their motivations and poorly-made choices, however, can go die in a fire.
May. 14th, 2009 07:30 pm (UTC)
Awww, yeah, I couldn't care less about Jacob and all that island mythology stuff, sadly. Which is obviously what the writers care most about, at the expense of everything else. I'd be so damn happy never to see Locke, Ben or Jacob again! (Richard, however, can stay. ;D)
May. 14th, 2009 08:02 pm (UTC)
Amen to that.
May. 14th, 2009 11:07 pm (UTC)
I honestly wonder if the writers hate us. :-/
May. 14th, 2009 08:23 pm (UTC)
This episode put out a big smell, that's for sure. Tell me this, wasn't it just in last weeks episode that Jack said he wanted to detonate the bomb so everyone would be spared the last 3 years of hell? and now this week he wanted to do it because he wanted another chance with Kate?!?!?! Did I get that fuckery right?
May. 14th, 2009 11:08 pm (UTC)
Gah, it makes no fucking sense whatsoever! Everyone did what they did for such selfish reasons (except Sawyer) and it's just... idiotic! Beyond idiotic!
May. 14th, 2009 11:19 pm (UTC)
Sawyer didn't come out smelling like roses either. He only did what his mommy told him to do. Argh!
May. 14th, 2009 09:26 pm (UTC)
I could give a shit about Ben, the 316ers, or Jacob and his four-toed condo. It's all about the original folks and those that they love (that's you, Juliet and Miles)to me. I can no longer count on Darlton to give me the compelling stories that were the promise of the first few seasons, and THAT is why I love those of you who can and do write it HERE.

Word, word, I couldn't agree more.

Lost fandom definitely cares more about the characters than the show writers ever have. I don't think they realize or care how ridiculously idiotic the characters come off most of the time, esp. in a life and death decision like in the finale. Everyone was so damn selfish, it just makes you want to shake them all! The finales usually rock but this one was just terrible.
May. 15th, 2009 04:06 pm (UTC)
i'm so confused about the bomb - why was it so important to detonate it? and why is everyone on board with so little evidence that it's a Good Thing?

i liked that we're seeing more of the jacob and black/white, good/evil battle - that at least kept my interest.

Same here! That made no sense to me at all! If they'd managed to sell us on that, maybe I wouldn't be so bitter. Also, if I cared an iota about all the Jacob bits, I wouldn't mind it taking up so much damn screen time!
